One man prayer motivational story
Once in a quiet village nestled between green hills and flowing rivers lived a humble farmer named Arun. He was not rich, nor highly educated, but he had a heart full of faith and a spirit that never gave up. Every morning, before the sun rose, Arun would go to a small temple under a banyan tree and offer a simple prayer to God.
“Dear God,” he would say, “I don't ask for gold or fame. Just give me the strength to face my struggles and the wisdom to do what's right.”
Arun’s life was not easy. His land was dry, the monsoon often failed, and he barely earned enough to feed his family. Still, he worked from dawn to dusk with a smile, never missing his morning prayer. His neighbors often mocked him. “What has your prayer given you? You’re still poor,” they would say.
But Arun never replied with anger. He only smiled and said, “My prayer gives me peace, and peace gives me power.”
One year, the village faced its worst drought in decades. Crops failed, animals died, and many families began migrating to cities. Arun, too, was heartbroken. His crops withered. His family was hungry. But every morning, he still prayed, “Give me strength, Lord.”
One night, while lying under the stars, a thought struck him. “What if I build a small water tank to collect rainwater? It may not save all the crops, but it can save some.”
He shared the idea with the villagers, but they laughed. “We need a miracle, not a mud tank,” they mocked. But Arun quietly began digging a small pond near his field, alone. He worked for days with nothing but a spade and hope.
Soon, clouds gathered. Rain came, not much, but enough to fill the tank. Arun used that water wisely. While others had barren fields, a small part of his land turned green. People were shocked. “How did you manage this?”
Arun smiled and said, “I prayed for strength, not shortcuts. God answered me by giving me an idea.”
His small success inspired others. Next year, many villagers built their own tanks. Gradually, the village became self-sufficient in water. Government officers visited and helped build larger reservoirs. Arun was honored by the district for his innovative thinking and unshakable faith.
Years later, a reporter asked him, “What kept you going when everyone gave up?”
Arun replied, “Prayer is not about asking for easy lives. It’s about asking for strength to face hard ones. I prayed not for miracles but for courage. And God gave me more than I ever imagined.”
